George Forman Grill

                                                                   Want your own?

So for Christmas I recived a mini purpley/pink George Forman Grill. It is just so cute, and I could not wait to try it out. The first thing I decided to grill was some beautiful purple eggplant. I seasoned it up and popped it right on. And what do you know? it came out perfect. It was so delicious...and healthy too.
I have been strongly debating on weather or not to go vegan and this grill can help me start that new lifestyle. I soon was grilling zucchini and potatos. Each vegetable came out perfect and delicious :) It is so easy to use, you just plug it in and bam with the cover closed it heats up in seconds. Then you just pop on what ever food you r craving and you have a healthy little meal.
My grill is very small and I can only cook one slice of eggplant at a time, but it is perfect for me, since I am the only one eating. If you wanted a grill that would be more fmily freindly there are so many more models you could choose form the fit you needs.

"The G-Free Diet"- Elisabeth Hasselbeck

                                                                      What to buy it?

I have just finished reading the book "The G-Free Diet, a gluten-free survival guide" by Elisabeth Hasselbeck. Elisabeth is the cohost on the The Veiw and wrote this book to help people like us who are gluten-free. I saw this book in a magazine and just had to get it for Christmas. I started reading that day and could not put it down.
The book starts with a forewords by Peter Green, MD. talking about celiac disease. Elisabeth then starts with her own story about her struggles to find what was harming her body. The next few chapters have information about what exactly celiac disease is and what causes it. Then she gets into situations you might be confronted with as you begin your new lifestlye. These chapters include personal stories and expirences from Elisabeth as well as other families struggling with the same things. Towards the end of the book in the last few chapters she brings you information on other reasons people may turn to the G-Free lifestyle, which include Autism and even weight loss. (although weight loss is contriversal, read this article to find out more Is the gluten-free diet a good option for weight loss?)
The appendix of the book has numerous resources with names of brands, websites, blogs, books, and personal care products.
This book is definatly a must and can be read as leisure reading even though it is full of important life saving information. It even comes with a resterant dining card which you can bring whenever you go out to eat. Instead of painfully telling your waiter your whole life story your can just pop the card in his hand and tell him to give it to the chef.

Ancient Harvest Garden Pagodas

                                                                     Want to buy it?
These Garden Pagodas are the definition of great quinoa pasta. Quinoa is full of nutrients and is called "The Mother Grain" (although it is really a seed). It has a great nutty flavor and texture a little diffrent from traditional rice pastas. The ingredients are: a natural blend of corn flours and quinoa flour. Simple ingredients but an excellent taste. In this Ancient Harvest pasta there are 3 colors of pagpdas: yellow, orange, and green. It cooks in 4-6 minutes and goes great with tomato sauce or a broth. You can also add it into a pasta salad for an exciting twist.

Tinkyada Brown Rice Pasta

                                                                       Want to buy it?

Tinkyada has a line of brown rice pastas of all shapes and sizes. The pasta has an amazing texture and excellent taste. It is made from the simple ingredients: Stone-ground Brown Rice, Rice Bran and Water. It cooks in only 12-14 minutes or you can use the energy saving cooking technique by cooking the pasta in boiling water for 2 minutes then covering it and letting it sit for 20 minutes. Eaither way you get great tasteing healthy pasta. This pasta is my favorite and the closest to tasteing like any wheat pasta you used to eat. I love simply tossing it with a light tomato sauce and maybe a sprinkle of grated parmesan :)

First day on the blog

Love the GF lifestyle

I have never made a blog before so this should be an adventure...
I wanted to make this blog for people who live just like me, GLUTEN FREE.
I have been gluten-free for over a year now, which does not sound like a long time but I have done my share of reseach. I love learning new recipies, trying new products, and learning about advancements in the medical field. I am passionate about cooking and keeping my body as strong and well as it can be.
Some of us who are gluten-free do it because we have to, because of celiac disease or a gluten/wheat intolerance or allergy. Some of us do it when someone in our family gets diagnosed with the disease. And others just want a change in their life and how they feel. No matter why you are gluten-free sometimes it may come as easy as GF pie, but sometimes it can be rather difficult. This blog will have information on products and easy recipies that will help you keep your life a little less stressful.
